Accessing Yahoo widgets

by bsawtelle / November 8, 2009 1:08 AM PST

In the UN46B8000 user manual, it mentions access to Yahoo widgets in addition to the specific Samsung widgets listed on the Samsung widgets gallery page. I see a number of Yahoo widgets I'd like to get such as a Phone Book listing, Weather radar, and some other specific widgets. Are these available for loading to the dock?

Thanks

bsawtelle,

The widgets that are currently available on Samsung products are listed at the link below. I don't get prior information for new widgets that may be added in the future, but when they are available, they will be available to choose in the dock.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a contact path to request widgets to be added to the Samsung listing?

bsawtelle,

Not that I'm aware of. If you're looking for a specific one, let me know, and I'll pass it up as a suggestion. The more people pitch in their ideas.. it obviously doesn't guarantee that it will happen, but certainly gives us an idea of what people want.

Widget suggestions
by bsawtelle / November 13, 2009 9:32 AM PST

Of general interest for people:
1) weather radar, static and animated options(ideally, tied to the Yahoo Weather widget)
2) Include NCAA-Football, since Yahoo Sports doesn't show it (FYI, I have Y!Mobile and it does support NCAA-Football...maybe just an upgrade to the Yahoo widget will cover this

More personal:
1) International Space Station tracking map
2) Telnet screen to allow me to connect to text-based DX clusters (ham radio related)

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
