Accessing the internet

May 28, 2004 4:10PM PDT

When I access the internet my firewall asks whether the following should also access the internet:

system.exe
AuMagic

This has only just started to happen and whilst I always say no its getting a bit annoying and wondeed if there was some way of stopping this.

Any help much appreciated.

( I am running Windows ME on a Fujitsu Siemands Euroline)

Regards

Stuart

Stuart,

A little information that I found:

Two responses about: Re: -AUMagic ?

On the other hand..."System.exe" could certainly be a problem as it's frequently a virus/trojan. Check the link below:

Following Y4's lead here, click on either, or both of the links below and run the free online scanners that they provide:

Housecall Online Scanner

Panda Online Scanner

AFter that, download, install, update from in their user interface, then run the free spywarer removal tools from the links below. Delete all spyware found. BE AWARE...some freeware programs may cease to function if they are dependent on spyware to function. Still, it's better to find new freeware than to continue with spyware problems.

Ad-Aware 6 Spyware Removal Tool

?Spybot Search & Destroy? Spyware Removal Tool

CWShredder Hijack Removal Tool

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.
