And what happens if you look at it in some USB case on your Apple?
I have a late 2009 13" macbook. The computer kept stopping with the "Restart the computer" window due to a kernal_panic. I tried booting in the safe mode but it also shut down. The apple repair shop indicated the hard drive was going bad but they should be able to offload the files (*.doc and *.pdf) on the computer.
I left the computer at the shop with an 320 gb external drive formatted as fat32 and the "broken" macbook. They replaced the hard drive and the battery (also bad). When I picked up the computer and checked the external drive for my files, I only found 5 folders and 2 were empty. None of the files that were produced in the last month and saved to my desktop were offloaded.
Is there any way I can access the old drive myself to check for the files saved to the desktop but not offloaded? Thanks
