Question

Access Internet in USA

Jul 14, 2012 4:33AM PDT

Hi I'm french man who lives in France, I've family who lives in USA near Cleveland Cuyahoga Falls for precision.
I want to speak with them by Skype, but they say me that it's difficult to them, because access internet is very expensive in USA.
For us, it's difficult to understan it because in France we've internet access untimited 24/24 by broadband ADSL between 1Mbps to 20Mbps and more for great town by fiber optic, in more we've access to phone unlimited between phone to phone and we pay when we're phoning to mobile phone!
My question is : How many you pay for to have an internet access? What speed? what technology you use near Cuya hoga falls OHIO?
Thank to your nearly answer.
Sorry for my bad american language.
Gilles

The slow cheap connection my mom has is only 15 a month and 640Kbps. My cable is 20Mbps tops and runs about 33 a month. For some that's too much so they can use the free wifi at the usual spots.

If I well understand you pay between 19$/month to 40$/month and you say me that it's expensive for some people.
In France For Internet access alone is 20€/month (24$), after you've 3 play TV + Phone + Internet access for 40€/month (49$) and internet access is unlimited, we've got internet access by wifi at home in some public place like Mc Donald's restaurant, administration.

Many People have got internet access at home, some have got dial-up because their home is too much taken away!

For us it's increddible to hear that country who've invented internet connection, you've got problem for to have got internet access, too expensive! increddible!

For us, USA is a country where everything is possible, but in reality is not sure!

Thanks to your answer!
