Access Denied to picture folder...

Hello all.. I Am using Digital Photo Pro v 1.6.1.0 on my laptop with Vista Business. After downloading photos from my Canon camera and trying to access the file folder, I receive the following message:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\My Pictures is not accessible.
Access denied.

I have tried resetting the permissions or so I thought.. and that did not work.

TIA for recommendations and suggestions.

Bo
