Can you show the relevant part of your code, that is:
- running the query
- testing for the result

Hello all,
Here's what I'm looking to accomplish. I've written a database that stores actions that people are to complete and generates a report based in the information enetered. I'm looking to create a before update action that opens a query that I've created called "like description" that compares information in the description field of the current form to the description field in existing records. If the query returns a positive result, a message box (vbYesNo) will appear asking if you would like to continue saving or not. If yes is selected, the report is generated and emailed out to the appropriate person. If no is selected, then it would stop all actions, close the query, and return to the form. Likewise, if no result is found, it should automatically generate and email the report.
So far, the module I've written works, with the following exception. I can't seem to get it to recognize if the query retruns a matching record. The message box pops up no matter what. Any help is appreciated.
