You're trying to run a Windows program on Linux. You need to use a Linux program, not a Windows program.
Happily, there are heaps of sound recording programs available on Ubuntu; a quick search of the Ubuntu Software Center (the orange "bag" icon on the left-hand-side bar) will reveal a few.
On Ubuntu, there are almost no "trial versions"; most programs are free full versions. You might like this.
I am not able to instal the Above software downloaded from Cnet only and getting error msg as follows
