I am in the market for a VERY cheap notebook PC. I have a desktop that I am satisfied with.
All I really want to do with the notebook are:
1. surf the net wirelessly
2. play DVD movies and music occasionally while traveling
3. store photos from my digital camera while on vacation
I can use my desktop for video editing, photo editing, burning, etc.
What is the absolute bare minimum you would recommend to do these things? It can even be older technology that isn't even in the low end models of today if it would do the job for me. I am thinking wouldn't need much.
I do plan to replace the desktop with a full featured laptop in the next year or two, so longevity (in regards to obsolescence) is less of an issue. This would be striclty a backup PC, mainly for surfing the net wirelessly over a broadband connection.
