Resolved Question

About PSU

Mar 2, 2015 5:08PM PST

Greetings everyone,

I've bought a new graphic card for my pc and my current power supply unit didn't have the PCI-3 6 pins to connect to my NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS GC

Current PSU - ATX 520W
Current MOBO - MCP61M-M3 v7.0/7.1
PSU target - cooler master G650M or V650M / Aerocool KCAS 700w / Silverstone 600M 80+ silver modular

Questions, do i have to check the new target psu is compatible with my mobo or not? and how do i check?

Thanks

Usually those connections are in the PSU specs.

Look at the PSU specifications closely for PCI power connections. Sometimes you need to use an adapter. ATX-520W found more than one model so I won't hazard to write if it only needed the adapter.

Let me repeat. With power connections a little all over the map, it's possible to need a power adapter once in a while.

PS. Nod to single rail +12V models.
