About MEGXON Cameras

May 13, 2005 8:53PM PDT

Hi.
I am based in Taiwan and start working closely with MEGXON manufacturer to improve both the reputation of the brand and the performance of the products.
We are fully aware that advertising using interpolated resolution is really a pain in an ake and real unfair. However I have to clearly state that it ios not the fault of the manufacturer but the one of the retailer who mask the real performance of the product.
Regarding this point I like to mention that:
if you have one computer with apporpriate software, interpolation is really the last thing you need. You can do what you want with photo software.
But if you don't have any computer and you just want to print out you image, in such a case integrated interpolation software can be use to recentyer you photo or to have a better printing for large format.

But of course you will never improive the quality of your photography using interpolation.

Now let me come to my real issue.
I like top have feed back from people who have bought MEGSON camera. I like to know what is good, what is not good.
Using these information i will go back to Megxon and will do my best to improve the service.
Specially for people who are using
S303/S302
C480
C531
T51
I thank in advance all people that will help us in our mission.

Support for Megxon cameras is eMail support in Taipei Taiwan.

They also have a phone number in Taiwan, but I would guess that you better brush up on your Chinese before calling that number.

Problem w/faulty SD card slot on Megxon M550.
May 31, 2007 3:58AM PDT

I use Windows and I just purchased a Megxon M550 (MD# G74E8M000906)off Ebay. The SD card slot does not work properly. Whenever I attempt to insert a SD card following the directions of the instruction manual, the SD card does not click into place in the SD card slot. It pops back out of the SD card slot. If I try to insert the SD card into the faulty SD card slot with the camera on, it causes the camera to power off. I can not even format the SD card because it does not stay in place in the SD card slot. I want the camera, but I don't want any junk. I contacted the ebay seller and Megxon by email. I have not heard any response yet. I would like a replacement.

To get a replacement camera you will have to contact the seller.
If they fail to respond, you can check with your credit card company to see about getting the charge reversed.

Megxon Annoyances
Jul 19, 2007 1:12PM PDT

Pmd in Taiwan:
If you have input to the Megxon company. I have a small Megxon camera and I am contemplating buying another one, a more advanced model. I realize Megxon is lower priced, and perhaps you get what you pay for.
My biggest annoyance: the batteries are always dead. Ad 1: they last only a very short time. Ad 2: the "on" button on top pf the camera is too sensitive and there is no way to lock it. When in the bag, something always touches the on button, and when I want to use the camera, the batteries are dead. I have gotten to where I have to leave the batteries out until I am ready to take a picture. Ad 3: I could never make the scene selection work. No matter what buttons I pushed, it always stayed the same. It seems the control switches are poor quality.

the camera we have is a megxon k38..it takes good pictures, but we can't get it to load on our computer in order to print the pictures. I too bought it on ebay as a Christmas gift for my daughter. we were pleased with the camera until this..since I have been reading on the negative things about this camera, I wished I had never seen it......she was wanting to take pictures of her 21st birthday party, but I guess not...I guess I will have to see if I can find her another camera at a reputable store for this event...will no longer buy cameras off ebay, can't trust it....
can you let me know how to load the camera on a dell computer?

Here is their website:

http://www.tekxon-tech.com.tw/

Your camera probably uses a SD memory card.
Buy a SD card reader (about $20).
Then you don't have to connect the camera to your computer.

The card reader (with memory card) connects to the computer and your computer will see it as being another hard drive.

Megxon s302 problem
Mar 6, 2008 4:27AM PST

I've had a Megxon S302 for over a year, but hadn't used it for about 5-6 months. I tried to turn it on, but it did not respond at all. I've changed the batteries (tried several different times/brands) and connected to my PC hoping that it might come on, but nothing is working. Do you have any suggestions? I emailed the support at the website (most recent post of it).

Thanks

reply from e-bay user on you Megxon cameras
Mar 24, 2008 4:13AM PDT

I purchased the Megxon S308 Camera about six months ago, and it was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made on ebay! I paid around $150 for this camera, and it was a total waste. They will claim it is a great camera and list all of the features such as: 2 in 1 Editing Tool, 9 Scenes, Slim Size, Panorama Assistant, Image Sensor CMOS 3.1M, 8x Digital Zoom, 1.5 TFT LCD, 16M Internal Memory, 6 Color Effects, Digital Recorder, Audio Recorder, Web Camera, 3 Game Player, and TV Out. The list goes on and on! What they fail to mention (in lemon's terms) is that the zoom only works when you take pictures with 3.1 Mega-pixels or less. It will NOT work above 3.1, and the pictures at that resolution look terrible with this camera. They also fail to mention, that no matter what type of batteries that you use they will only last a few minutes (name brand, rechargeable, it doesn't matter). The internal memory of "16M" will only hold two pictures if you use 12 mega-pixels. And to synchronize your camera with a new memory card should be left to a genius! The Application Software that comes with this camera would not download on my computer, my mother's, or three friends computers. So the software was faulty. The only was to get assistance will be if you speak Chinese! Because all of the customer service numbers and websites are based in China, no English at all. And guess what...the user manual is included on the software, not in a paper form. So, no software, no user manual!!! I did purchase a program to translate Chinese into English and FINALLY downloaded the user manual, which was really not much help! What you get is a useless, cheap, plastic camera! I'm sure you have heard the saying "You get what you pay for". Well, that doesn't apply to this case, you won't even get that. I would definitely advise everyone to stay away from the Megxon camera's and spend a little more to get a good camera. At least one that you can use!! If you have already made the same mistake that I did, you can translate some of the websites to English, but you still won't get very far!! Count your loses and buy a good camera. And I would defiantly NOT resell the camera on ebay, you would be asking for negative feedback. Most of the seller's that sell these camera's will not leave feedback for you until you have left it for them. If you leave a negative, they will in return leave you a negative as a form of retaliation. Always be VERY cautious when you purchase a digital camera and be sure to check the feedback of the seller. I would also check the types of items they sell, as I have seen many people reselling these camera's and saying they were used once. It may be the only one they have, and they could still have very good feedback. Just be prepared, if you purchase a Megxon, you're asking for trouble!!

T51 comments.
Jul 28, 2008 7:42PM PDT

The T51 appeared to be a good camera, but has several faults.
1. The power button is too easily switched on, resulting in the camera trying to extend itself inside its case. I glued a small rectangle of rubber around it, so that I have to push on it to turn it on. It is a design fault.
2. The date keeps resetting back to January 2005 if the camera is left in its case for a couple of hours. The batteries are still good. It is a design fault.
3. When I select 'close-up' mode, the picture in the viewfinder is clear, but the picture taken by the camera is blurred. It is another design fault, and the main reason I am not buying a replacement camera from MegXon.

MEGXON--CHARGING
Oct 8, 2008 4:24AM PDT

I love my MEGXON K2
One problem I foresee. I'm taking a trip. If I am neae my computer,--no problem--but how do I charge my battery, (np-40 lithium)
when my computer is not available?
With purchase i received an adapter, to plug into wall . It lights up, but does not charge,
I'm still learning things about my camera. I like what I know

Time to buy another adapter now.
Oct 8, 2008 4:43AM PDT

Why didn't you return the defective charger?

When the adapter with my wife's new mp3-player didn't work, they gave me a new one without any questions. I didn't even have to return the old one. I knew it was an online-shop to be trusted.

Hello

My Megxon C580 will not focus and displays a message on the LCD that says( AF needs calibrating ) there is nothing in the manual that relates to calibration.
Can you please tell me how to calibrate the Auto Focus.

The original post of this thread dates back to the year of 2005.
I just checked the website for Megxon and it appears that they are out of business.

I have never heard of any digital camera that would let you calibrate the Auto Focus.
That is a job for a camera repair service or the manufacturer.

Since the company that was supporting that camera is out of business, my suggestion is to toss it in the trash and buy a new camera.

S303 ... Good luck with the driver
Aug 3, 2013 1:31PM PDT

My Aunt gave me a Megxon S303 Digital Camera. I do have to say in the least.. it will take a picture.. but good luck finding drivers or an actual website. If you go to the webpages mentioned here.. the domain is for sale.. so. Basically you have wasted your money if you buy one of these camera's.

Your best bet will be to not even waste your time with the drivers. Instead.. make sure you have a SD Card reader available.. either on your printer or on your computer.. and transfer the pictures by taking out the memory card.

My recommendation would be to get your money back A.S.A.P. if possible.

I still have an old Kodak Digital camera I bought from Target many years ago when 1 megapixel was HUGE for camera's. That camera still takes better pictures than this one.

In short.. it's cheap Chinese Junk just like everything else China supplies.
