About Grub2....

Nov 14, 2009 9:21AM PST

I have a dual boot Windows XP and recently up graded 9.04 ubuntu to 9.10. On the grub screen when I boot up the first four lines are: 9.10 2.6 30, 9.10 2.6 30 (recovery), 9.10 2.6.28 and 9.10 2.6 28 (recovery).I wonder why there are 2 Ubuntu 9.10's. Anyone know? Thank you in advance. Dan

Numbers like 2.6.x are Linux versions.
x bigger number means newer kernel.
If you are 100% sure that the latest kernel works well for you, so you can remove older ones with synaptic tool.
