There are quite a number of different versions of that and a number of ways to get rid of it depending on which version you have.

About:Buster removes SOME of them. Make sure you follow the directions.

These others will also remove SOME of the variations.

They are all free except for the trojan removers but you can get a 30 trial with them.

Spybot S&D (download, check for updates, read the tutorial and scan often, it also does some blocking)

Ad-Aware SE (a scanner, download, check for updates, read the directions and scan.

cwshredder (stand alone unit)(another small scanner for certain things, ALL other windows should be closed)

Download anti-trojan (any of the following)

The Cleaner Pro 30 days trial -

TrojanHunter - (trial)

safe mode?
by jeffmcmurran / May 13, 2005 12:18 AM PDT

Is it acceptable to run these in safe mode? In normal Windows they don't seem to install properly, (i.e.: co-interface error code 08035xxx at the end of installation). THANKS!

Using safe mode is fine but if

you can't get them to install, it won't do you any good so your best bet is to use HijackThis and take your log to one of the forums that specializes in them. Hopefully you can get HJT to install, if you can't then still go to one of these forums and explain the problem.HijackThis is a great tool but is dangerous if used without knowing exactly what to delete with it so there are forums that have experts that have been trained in using it so I would suggest bring your log to one of them. Please be patient with whoever you bring your log to, they are very busy. You'll have to join whichever forum you decide to bring it to but that is not a big deal and is the same as joining CNET.

HijackThis download locations:

Current version of HijackThis is 1.99.1 (released Feb. 16, 2005)

Where to put and how to use HijackThis:

It is important that you run HijackThis.exe in its own folder so the backup files that HijackThis creates will not be accidentally deleted.

Open 'My Computer', then double-click to open C:\ (or the drive letter that your Windows is installed on)
In the menu bar, click File-->New-->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis". Now you have C:\HJT\ or C:\HijackThis\ folder. Put your HijackThis.exe there, and double click to run it.

Click 'Scan' button. Click 'Save log' button. Save the 'hijackthis.log' in your desktop. Copy and paste the content of 'hijackthis.log' and post it at one of these forums. Just follow the links on these for HJT.

Other forums that offer HijackThis analysis can be found on this link in the recommended sites section on the left side of the page.

on what variant you have...either way, there is no one ''cure all'' for this hijacker, it is related to CWS and must be looked into. most doubtable you probably have an advanced variant as most of the lessors are delt with by different vendors before they can cause havoc on your system, really you need to run a hijackthis log and post it at any of these recommended sites here
please note the rules and regs of posting them on their forums so that you understand fully that you are in compliance with them there of, and never post a log into someone else's thread. good luck!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
