so the Pro's have a better idea of what's going on > Speccy

With only 2GB of ram you need to be picky about what is running in the background...

With 61 processes running you have too much stuff running.

Take a look at your startup group and make it skinny.

Many things you can start on a as needed basis and then turn it off.

With 2GB of ram your hammering the page file.

Only you can tell what's a must have startup item.

This w7 machine with the browser open and looking at this forum shows 26 processes.

With only 2GB RAM and today's browsers

It will use all the RAM. The new design of browsers will tax machines like this today. You know this is a dated PC and frankly while we can work it a little it won't change it much. A Web Speccy can give us a deeper look but it won't change the fact this is a low RAM dated machine. Some folk get upset about this and can't be helped. If you want to work with this PC today, you would weigh if you can bump the RAM (see Crucial.com) and move to a SSD. I have such a laptop and it works fine now that I did both.

There will come a time the CPU will drag along on more and more Web pages but for now it does the HTPC work on Chrome just fine on 4GB RAM and a Core2Duo.

It's a shame this isn't the 64 bit OS since running the 32 bit limits so many areas.
