Abit AX78 MoBo and AMD Phenom II X4 965 processor

by jtsylvanis / January 17, 2010 8:26 AM PST

Will these two work together on an 8GB Win7_64 computer? Better yet, will these two work together at all? Somewhere I read that this processor slides into and works on AX2+ MoBos. Is that true?

Thank you, John.

Yeah, it's an AM3 processor
by jtsylvanis / January 18, 2010 5:25 AM PST

And I read that it'll work with Am2 boards on the thread you've sent me to. The problem is that no one to date has ascertained that the AX78 board will work with this processor flawlessly. ABIT's site doesn't mention anything and I could not see any possibility to communicate with them. I don't think I'll buy another ABIT board. I don't feel like discarding a 2 year old board until I am sure that the AX78 can't be used for more powerful processors. The Athlon 5600 that is currently running on the board is a good processor, but it's not enough for what I have to do by far. Frankly, for my tasks I'd need an octo machine, but who has $2500 for such a build.

work on the AM2/AM2+ MB. That sounds like trouble to me.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
