I guess rock and roll is over.

Although not classic rock and roll, during their day most of their music was played on rock and roll stations, so I'd have to agree with the induction.

Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" and ABBA's "Dancing Queen". If one is rock and roll, so is the other.

Well...

You could pick other songs. Crocodile Rock, The ***** Is Back, Bennie and the Jets, Burn Down the Mission, Rocket Man, for instance.

Just my opinion, but I don't see ABBA as Hall of Fame material. Or even as rock for that matter.

But, hey, no accounting for taste.

What about Stomp music?

The only reason, I clicked on the link was to find out why the Stooges. It was not a band that I remember and if at all referred to the 3 Stooges. I just had to know. Of course, nothing as I suspected. I well knew of Iggy Pop, but the Stooges threw me, I couldn't remember. Happy

I believe any R&R group/person that become gold/platinum is bound to be inducted. Or course, if you sold a zillion records to buyers that are on the fringe now may not be later. The history of R&R has pretty started out that way.

An interesting note, FYI, Elvis has made more money dead than alive due to Graceland and continuing record sales. Wouldn't you like to pass away and know you're family was taken of for a very long time?

I think the Stooges had more of a cult following...

and became more popular after they had left the scene. I remember my brother had their records, but he was a bit more savvy than the average Rock fan.

Iggy was better known later on.
