Aaaah, need help finding a camera!

Mar 16, 2010 4:28PM PDT

after searching the web for a few weeks now i am about to go insane...
no review matches the other and i have no clue how i am supposed to find a good cam that suits my needs.
i'm looking for a good camera which i can take on my travels, that's why i tend to bridge cameras. important to me is a wideangle, image stabilzer, of course good quality and sharp pictures - and an automatic mode as i dont have the time to study the whole manual at the moment, but i definitely want to improve and develop further.
i like to take pictures of landscapes, sunsets, beach scenes, nature - well, typical holiday pictures Wink
i dont need a video function or an extreme zoom as i'm not a big fan of zooming into pictures.
i was thinking of the canon sx20is, samsung wb5000 or the panasonic fz38 - just because i've seen them on top of a lot rankings. then again all these cameras have a huge zoom and a video function, that's why i was wondering whether you have any other ideas?
thank you so much!

I think I have just the camera

Take a look at the Canon S90. It does have wide angle, is very pocketable, has very good auto modes but does have the ability to expand one's photographic needs, and has pretty much the best low light capabilities of any point and shoot on the market.

A layman's style review

And a review that is more of a photographer's review.

How about GPS camera

If you travel, I would recommend a GPS camera. Some GPS cameras are introduced at http://www.squidoo.com/gps-digital-camera

You can uploade your images with Geo tag information to your Web album site like Picasa. Then, this allows you to see the location of images in the map provided in the web site.
Why don't you share not only the pictures but also memory where it was taken, with your friends and family?

FYI, you may check my Picasa Web album site to see some images and locations: http://picasaweb.google.com/ShootBluesky
