Hi to everyone, im new on this so dont be mad at me. I just bought a A960M-M3 ecs Elitegroup Motherboard whit a Fx6100 AMD and 8gb of corsair vengeance ddr3, i have my old Hard drive Western digital caviar blue, a 400w psu coolermaster elite. Gpu radeon hd 2600pro. I replaced the old whit the new stuff and couldnt pass the "Windows" Black loading screen, throws me back into the Bios over and over, tried that like 10 times and after that the system didnt even boot the bios, just a black screen (i check everything EVERYITHING is running, conected and ready to be used) I read on some forums that the BIOS have a old firmware for the cpu BUT no one shows a straigh answer, there is a way to fix this? PS: sorry about my english, n ot my native language.

Fresh install of OS
Mar 15, 2013 10:32AM PDT

Did you reload the OS on to the HD? You can't just re-use the old HD with the OS on it as is, it needs to be installed from a fresh install. You gave no clue if that was done. If you're using the old HD with the previous install of the OS, it won't acknowledge anything new or it will do as you've described.

As for the bios, you can load the latest rev. level for your model mtrbd. provided you goto the mtrbd. support website. Find the latest bios update and install "per instructions". Don't do this if you're not sure of the process. However, don't do this until you've checked my first info.

Proper install
Mar 16, 2013 2:08AM PDT

Yes, you need to do a fresh install of the OS to your new setup. Basically, during the install it will ask to reformat, etc. and then proceed to install the OS. Once that's done, you then use the mtrbd. supplied disc and install the drivers and any pgms. that maybe part of that disc. Once that's done you can then go online and update the OS with any new OS updates, etc., and register your OS too and validate it.

The old OS data and it past install just won't on its own acknowledge your new stuff even if you try to bypass it. The whole process is locked-in by the OS not to be defeated. Ever, since XP and later OS releases that is the case. You offered nothing in what the OS being used but the results you currently have are similar to old OS to new equipment. Too much has changed and it has to be done as I explained.

It's possible you may have introduced other issues but for now the main one is as I explained, reload the OS. Provided the CD/DVD drive is "working" and accesses the OS install disc it should try to load, provided it is the 1st "boot device". The bios has to be set in the boot order to address the CD/DVD drive first.

FYI- proper OS disc
Mar 16, 2013 2:22AM PDT

I assume you have a proper OS install disc to reload the OS. If your old PC had the OS "pre-installed" on the HD like from Dell, HP, etc., that's considered OEM and remains as part of the old PC, it can't be transferred to a new generic PC. If you build your old PC using some generic OEM(self build) or retail brought and have the actual disc, then you can reload the OS as long as the old PC is kaput. If all you have is the OS on the HD, and it refers to some OEM brand, again no go on re-install. Also, any online purchase if legal and proper should have provided a "key" in order to install 100%, go back to source and have key re-issued or redone per they're instructions. All of the above applies one way or another, so I leave it to you to find what you have.
