Question

A Volume of my Pc Hard disk automatically formatted.

Jun 14, 2018 3:11AM PDT

I uninstalled a game(NFS payback)
that's directory was in a volume (New volume E) of my hard disk . But After the uninstallation the volume is formatted automatically including my other files on that that volume. So What's the problem with my PC? How can I solve it?

I searched google about this but I didn't find this kind of problem that after unistalling app a hard disk volume is formatted.

Do You Mean "Reformatted"? More Info Needed

When you installed the game on a new E: partition, it already had to be formatted for any files to be placed on it. So we're going to need more information about our computer to determine what has happened. What is the make and model? Which operating system installed? Laptop or desktop? WHY did you create a new E: drive/volume since it probably wasn't necessary to do that in order to install a game on your hard drive?

Are there any other issues with the PC other than it appears like you lost some files on the E: drive? (You should be able to easily replace the with your backups.) There should be no reason the volume was formatted simply because of an uninstall procedure so it would be nice to know all the steps that led up to this issue.

Hope this helps and let us know more.

That if you install to the top folder of a drive rather than a folder on the drive that can result in an empty drive on uninstall. That's kind of a known issue or how things work and drives home that we only lose what we don't backup.

I've seen this and there was nothing wrong with the PC at all.

You might be able to use RECUVA if you haven't written to this drive since the uninstall.
