General discussion

a simple cry for a simple player

Oct 31, 2005 2:23PM PST

Hello. I'm looking for an MP3 player with a good battery length with the focus on listening to music. I don't need to look at pictures and videos, but solely music. It should be bigger than 1 gb, because that's my current player's capacity. It also should be a player that shows up as a removable driver. Rio Carbon and MuVo2 are the players I've came up as a solution, but I still have doubts. Rio Carbon doesn't have replacable battery, and MuVo2 has only a 12 hour battery life.

So should I stick with the Carbon? Is the battery life good even after 6 months or more? Or is there any other player I should know about?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Rechargeable batteries last longer than 6 months at a good charging level.

Carbon may soon be carbon

Rio has declared bankruptcy and is no longer making mp3 players. I would stay away from all Rio branded products.

wow, thanks a lot, because I was seriously considering Rio as a choice, though it was not my top priority, I was looking towards creative labs and iriver, but thanks for the warning because I might have ended up buying a rio.

I would recommend that you look at some more creative labs models like those of creative zen. What also is needed is would you like a flash based player or a hard disk based player, that makes it much easier to narrow down choices.
