A Shop

Nov 22, 2010 2:23PM PST

I'm looking for a Canon T2i DSLR Camera. All shops are selling it for $849.00 but there is one shop located in Brooklyn, NY called "Best Priced Electronics" which is selling it for $729.00.

There is a huge difference in the price provide by this store and other stores. I'm not sure about this store... Have any of you purchased any stuff from here? Should I be buying my camera from here?

Thanks in advance...

Especially many of the Brooklyn sites

Beware of them, they are many times scam sites or you'll get grey market products with no USA warranty. If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

Cnet Certified

The website for Best Price Electronics says that it is a CNET Certified Merchant (check at the bottom on following website):

http://bestpriceelectronics.com/bp/company_policy.php

Can anybody from CNET confirm this that it is a good shop and trust them and buy their products?

Many, many posts over the past couple of years about people trying to order cameras at these low, low prices. Prediction: you won't be able to actually buy it at that price because it will be either "out of stock" or the price represents some stripped down version of the item without the items that normally come with the honest retail version, like battery, cable, manual,warranty, etc. You'll be pressed to add on items that will inflate the price. Then you'll have a devil of time with the retailer if you choose to return it or if the item arrives inoperable.

Time and again those of us who have bought from websites strongly recommend the trusted sites like Adorama, B&H, NewEgg, Amazon, etc. This comes from over 2 years of experience with trusted vendors at reasonable prices.

Seems to be a "Bait & Switch" concern

Bait & Switch.

Have a look at it's ratings from WOT, (Web of Trust);

If you follow the CNET Certified link by clicking the image, you just get this;

That is no proof of CNET Certification.

In fact a search of Shopper.com, a site of CNET.com didn't display any results specifically for this Best Buy Electronics.

Any of the above would be enough to make me cautious, and walk away with my credit card balance safe.
