A ''Reply''.. is coming up as ''New Discussion''

Aug 15, 2006 4:10PM PDT

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. However, I'm unable to find something relating to it. It's no more, or no less, than I stated in the subject. I'd like to blame it on the late hour, but.. I can't. (If I did ''create a new discussion'', I never would have been able to view the person's post I was replying to.)

Anxiously awaiting the forum upgrade..

If any one of you have any ideas on how this occurs, please let me know. Thank you!

(NT) (NT) I bet they hit the green button. It's an UI issue.

I can't speak for all of 'them'.. only this part ..

of the 'they'. I had replied to a post. Then edited and previewed a couple of times. Also referring back to the post, which I had seen below, while editing. I hit ''preview'' for the last time - then ''submit''. There was no 'green button' to hit. While I might question, one of the 'they's', this 'they' did not hit 'a green button'.

Lee.. I have no idea how it happened. It's in my nature, to want to know how things work - or don't in this cae. At the time, I questioned it, and questioned myself. I do know the message I replied to, while writing, was directly below, as is yours now. On the outside chance, I didn't hit preview, prior to submit, could that have caused it? I've never done it any other way. It's the only thing I can think of. Addtionally, I haven't created a new discussion in well over a year. It's not something I might have inadvertently done out of habit. I'm not being defensive - only trying to help. Out of 1,100 posts, this was the very first time it's happened.

If you ever do come up with a solution, I'd love to know how it happened.

Carol

FWIW.. I've read of this happening at CC's. Or so the poster ''said''. I'm no less skeptical, than Bob!

Yeah I'm not too sure--I'm going to tinker around with this
Aug 23, 2006 5:55AM PDT

issue to see if I can reproduce it somehow. If I find anything I will let you know. The previous time when this bug happened was only if a user clicked "Reply to message" and the user was not logged and once the user logged in, it spawned a new discussion rather than a reply. This time it isn't the case as I've already tried that.

I'll report what I find.

Thanks!

Thanks, Lee. Is your time worth.. the tinkering?
Aug 24, 2006 11:34AM PDT

I posted not knowing if this was an on-going issue. Apparently not. And if it's only happened to me, that one time, you might ask if it's really worth your time. Spend the time with the baby! If it happens again.. I'll deal with it.

Thanks for your reply..
