Question

A problem with buzzing sound from AC adapter

Feb 25, 2014 9:56PM PST

Hey, guys!
I've just bought my first camcorder (JVC GZ-EX515) The problem is when I try to record with the AC adapter plugged in, there is that buzzing sound in the video. When the cam is powered from the battery there is absolutely no buzzing! So I wondered if there's anything I could do.
Thanks alot!

one more detail

I was studying test videos I made specifically for the purpose of investigating that buzzing. So in one case when I used built-in mic and power plugged in there was no buzzing and it appeared only at the end when I put my finger to the rec button. In all other cases with ac plugged in either with built-in or external mic the result was the same: steady buzzing from the biginning to the end of the video.

Pack and return. Test the next one before leaving the store.

I would

I would do that in the first place, but unfortunately I bought it online because it's cheaper and virtually the only option in my town Happy So I want to try something before returning (it also was the last one in stock) Besides, that buzzing is much much quieter than all other sounds and it seems that the problem is in the adapter... It also came with that core filter. The instruction says to clip it on the power cord but it doesn't specify on which end shoud I clip it. Mayby I did something wrong with that??

In that case.

Call the maker's support/warranty line and have them work with you. Frankly it sounds defective so return it quickly.

It's gone

I called the support and they said it's seems the adapter is defective (no wonder, it looks like those cheap chargers for cell phones, not the usual camcorder adapters with detachable cord) anyway, I was going to pack it and send back, but...suddenly the problem dissapeared, I mean completely! But if it appears again I'll send it right away.
Thank you, Bob!
