Question

A precise search of the Internet.

Oct 13, 2018 5:09AM PDT

I regret that this may appear rather vague but when I first used this computer it was possible to select one of two ways to search one of which gave one reply while the other gave dozens of pages of suggested answers but I did something that confused the computer and was then only able to get the general search.
The person who puts my computer mistakes right for me fixed that but I have been away and someone must have been at my computer because I'm back to only being able to get the general search.
I'm to embarrassed to ask my computer guru what she did to return my system back to offering me two choices of search and I hope she is not reading this but if what I wrote makes sense could someone please help me because I don't like spending time looking at no hope answers. Many thanks.

I 've half answered the question by finding what the term I referred to above is and of course its "I'm feeling lucky but regrettably I have no idea how to install it if that's the correct term.

No Need to "Install" "I'm Feeling Lucky"... But...

...it appears like you need to set up your browser's Home Page so it opens directly to the Google search page. Unfortunately, you've not told us which browser you're using but if you're using Internet Explorer, then open IE and click on the link below:

https://www.google.com/

Once that's done, you should be able to see the "I'm feeling lucky" button there in the middle of the page. Now, click on "Tools" in the upper left, choose "Internet Options", then the "General" tab. Once there, in the "Home Page" section at the top, click on the "Use current" button. Your home page should now show the Google home page you're showing on the screen. If so, then click on "Apply", then OK in the lower right.

For another browser, such as Firefox, it's similar but you open Firefox, then click on "Tools" in the upper left, choose "Options", then the "General" tab. You should then see the "Home Page" selection area.

If this doesn't solve your issue, then please give us more info about your computer, operating system, etc., and the browser you're using.

Hope this helps.
