I've been checking back on this project every once and a while. I can't wait for most of the hardware bugs to be resolved so they can start shipping some models to the eager public. I don't care if it still has buggy software, but I'd much rather have an Open Source phone that I can help improve and write applications for than the other highly anticipated touchscreen phone coming in late summer. They seem to have made lots of progress as of late and there's a chance it will have WIFI in the next hardware revision or two.
I get all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it...Open Source, Linux based, community-developed, well-priced and stylish too!
I saw this phone in Popular Science,
Neo1973 is an open source phone that you can make it run what ever programs you want it to. Regardless of what carrier you are on.
Power to the people!!! (finally)
