Question

A part fell off my laptop. Help?

Apr 10, 2015 2:06PM PDT

I have a 2011-2012 Dell Inspiron srs premium sound computer. I was in the shower and when I came back into my room, I saw a part lying next to it, and my computer was making weird clicking noises.

The picture of the part is in this link it says "bic matic" on it and some numbers also. I have no idea where this part even comes from or if its even fixable. If I knew where it came from, the chances of someone in my family fixing it, is really very good.

Answer
That's not a laptop part

That's from some pen or pencil. The only damage I've seen caused to laptops by such devices is when they get left on the keyboard area and the laptop closed. Sound like something that could have happened?

Answer
BIC is the clue

I thought BIC ever made a computer part. As others explained, it's the broken "clip part" of the pen/pencil.

As for the sound, just a happenstance maybe but chance your audio setup and see if anything seems eschew and/or re-install the s/w, etc..
