A minor Irritant

I have tried to alphabetize "my favorites" and have succeeded up to a point. The last eight entries are not in alpha order but are at the end of the list. I have gone into "My Favorites" thru C:\Documents and settings, etc. and done a select all and then View-arrange Icons by name and everthing except the last eight entries are in alpha order. Any idea as to what the hang up is? I am refering to IE 6.0
OS is XP home with SP2 plus updates. I also use Opera and their bookmarks including those imported from IE except the last eight.

Tried Doing It Directly From The Start Menu?

In reply to: A minor Irritant

Open Internet Explorer, then click on "Favorites" in the upper left toolbar.. When that opens, scroll to the bottom eight listings, then move our mouse to a blank area on the right side of the Favorites display, RIGHT click, choose "Sort By Name".

Hope this helps.

Didn't seem to work

In reply to: Tried Doing It Directly From The Start Menu?

I have noticed though, that when I go to "Documents and Settings" and My Favorites from there, the last 8 are in alpha order but they are not in alpha order in Internet Explorer.

Looked into it. Bug city?

In reply to: A minor Irritant

I read about sorting limits in IE, and how the Start, Favorites sort doesn't match IE or when you open that directory etc. etc. etc.

Looks to me you need to manually move around the last few items.

Couldn't figure out how

In reply to: Looked into it. Bug city?

to do it manually because when I tried to use the Move To feature it would tell me that I couldn't move the folder to the same source folder or something to that effect. But I did get them in order by going to the first one that was out of order, right clicked on it and then clicked on sort by name and it and the other 7 all are now properly sorted.

Drag And Drop The Favorite

In reply to: Couldn't figure out how

After opening IE, then click on "Favorites" in the upper left, move to the Favorite you want to move, then click on it while holding down the mouse, then "drag" the favorite to the preferred location.. Do it slowly and you'll see a "black line" move along with your mouse till you "drop" the Favorite.. You'll need to drag and drop each Favorite individually.

Hope this helps.
