According to Leventhal, Senter & Lerman, PLLC, the law firm that represents the NFL, its client has many rights that you may inadvertently violate during your enjoyment of the "Big Game" on Sunday, February 1,
2004. To be helpful, the law firm has posted on line a memo that guides our behavior.

For instance, here's a brief guide to what you may, and may not say tomorrow:

Summary of Use of Trademarks

You CANNOT say or print:
* "Super Bowl"
* "Super Sunday"
* The Super Bowl logo
* "NFL", "AFC", or "NFC"
* "National Football League"
* "American Football Conference"
* "National Football Conference"
* Any team name (e.g."Buccaneers") or nickname ("Bucs")

You MAY say or print:
* "The Big Game in Houston"
* "The Professional Football Championship Game in Houston"
* The date of the game (February 1, 2004)
* The names of the cities of the competing teams in the Super Bowl (e.g.,
Indianapolis vs.
Tampa Bay), but not the team names
* You can make fun of the fact that you cannot say the phrase "Super Bowl" (e.g., by beeping
it out)

So while you're sitting in your LayZBoy, drinking a Miller Lite, dressed in your Dockers, just be sure to use the right language. You can never tell when the NFL might decide to sue you, or some 12 year old miscreant for violation of its rights in our language.

P.S. - You might want to pass this helpful tip on to others you know who are supporters of "That football team from Philadelphia that sucks rotten eggs in their quality of play and should have been at the Big Game in
Houston"
