Question

A good external mic for iphone 4s?

Aug 1, 2012 1:22AM PDT

Hey there, I'm looking for an external mic to make it easier to record decent video/audio with my iphone 4s... anyone have any experience with the below product? Or know of anyhting else that works well?
Audio-Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone
Thanks!

Sorry no. But will comment on mics in general.

For most of us the mics are a "really good idea" since we can get rid of the noise of us handling the recorder (in this case, the 4s.)

The next thing I like to put on mics are those wind noise reducers. The foam cover type is pretty common and works well enough with those shaggy cat/dog hair looking ones always a favorite.

Having written all this, when I want better than average audio I have 2 devices in my bag now for this work. I'll share the make/model and leave it at that. Audio from those is added in post production.

Sanyo ICR-XPS01M
Tascam DR-07MKII

Hope this helps,
Bob

The mike you picked is a nice one, actually better than mine. I have been using "Olympus ME-52W". And as mine works well for me the one you selected will definitely serve your purpose.
