A good camcorder without a digital camera???

Apr 24, 2005 9:19AM PDT

Is it possible to get an excellent camcorder without a digital camera feature? On one hand it looks like you pay a lot of money for that and I don?t really need it and on the other I could not find a good small camcorder that does not have it.
Does anybody knows of a great camcorder around the Canon Optura 60 or the Panasonic PV-GS250 neighborhood, either price wise with better features or with the same qualities and cost less?

Any lead will be appreciate
Thanks

It seems like the best consumer camcorders - the one with the best video quality, all have still capability. It doesn't have to be that way, but the manufacturers feel that to compete they have to include it.

Not costly.

This is at most a firmware (software) feature and not much else. It's also part of the reason cameras don't make good video recorders and vice versa.
