a frends comp

a frend of mine went to windows update and was missing 19 critical files, when she downloaded them and tryed to install she got a error message so she clicked cancel and now when she puts her pc on it just says error on server contact vender, and she canot use or get her pc to work atall, can anyone help pleas??/

http://support.microsoft.com?id=184023 shows you the only supplied go back tool supplied. Try a boot to the command prompt and go back a few days.
