Question

A few issues with video games.

Dec 13, 2012 7:40AM PST

So, recently I've had a lot of free time, and some extra cash, so I've been using my computer more and more for gaming, lately however I've been getting a few weird issues.

With SWTOR going free to play, I wanted to try it again, however now anytime I load the game it says "out of range", the game never did this before..Other games have, however usually I can solve it by simply pressing ctrl+alt+del and closing it from the task manager, SWTOR stays 'out of range' even if I shut it off and back on again, forcing me to go into safe mode to remove the game.

The other one, is darksiders. I don't know how to explain it, but I took a picture of what my monitor does, http://i.imgur.com/BuVXv.jpg?1 the sound and everytime still works, and this one I can solve by turning the computer off and back on.

Anyone know the causes of these? video card or monitor going? anything else that might be the issue?

Sorry. I didn't even think of that I'm so flustered with other stuff, I'm using SIW to get all the information so, yea.

Windows vista home basic service pack 2
Pentium(R) dual-core CPU E6500 @ 2.93GHz
2 gig RAM
GeForce 8400 GS video card.

I'm, honestly not sure what else would even be useful for this problem.

(NT) I'd start with the limit I noted.

So, I tried it. but I'm on vista so my dxdiag doesn't have that tab. I tried changing the refresh rate through my video card, but it doesn't have a thing to limit it.

Then in the games.

You may have to ask the game maker how to limit the video modes.
