Question

A "dying" computer

Aug 15, 2018 10:23AM PDT

Should I just "throw it away" and start anew with a $2000 throw away laptop ? These computer crashes are becoming more serious and frequent, much more so than just IEHSW(ten times per day).. I have no videos, no links, no system restore, no F9, no F12 ..

I love such machines.

About half the time it's something simple like a good cleaning of heatsinks, vents and fans. Sometimes we get into a new fan or other small part but the majority of the time the repair is from 5 to 100 bucks.

Given so little story I can't offer much more than this.

Not a computer geek am I . . Its a Thermaltake with IE 11 and Windows 10, using a powerful? processer (AMD ?)from 5 years ago .. She is fairly clean inside and the fans are aspin .. or operational .. Today - twenty times plus "internet explorer has stopped working" crops up, also "critical process died" - once .. AND , I have no videos, no system restore, no gameday, no f9, no f12 .. I emptied the trash can .. may I should have included this POS computer ..

And get an estimate.
