Re: disc error

1. Try again.
2. Follow the system recovery procedures to go back to factory settings (ctrl-F11 early in the boot, most likely; see your user manual)
3. Have the machine repaired (moderately expensive if new disk, very expensive if new motheboard required)

Causes
Aug 16, 2010 12:53AM PDT

Hi, do u know what caused it?

No. Things break sometimes.

That's why we backup our data to have them still available when the machine breaks down.

and did you miss this part -"The given error code & msg can be used by dell techniqal support to help diagnose the problem:"?

If the computer is under warranty Dell will probably want to replace the hard drive. If it is not under warranty you will be wanting to replace the drive.

The drive is failing.

ctrl+alt+del
Aug 26, 2010 11:35PM PDT

I thought that we weren't allowed to press ctrl+alt+del on laptops... or is that me and my mac thinking? Either way I have had a similar message and rebooted the system and all was fine. Hopefully the tips given will help you Wink Good luck!
