If so, what a thrill it must have been...getting that hug, I mean! Happy

I do remember years ago, and I think it may have been on PBS, an entire series on Chicago history. Because I was born there but moved away as a small child, I remember watching that series with great interest. It sounded like a town that grew too fast but was able to adapt. There were several noted engineering feats that took place there including that of trying to provide enough clean water for all. I believe Chicago didn't have an adequate river route to the Mississippi which was crucial for moving cargo. The Pullman story was part of that series. Perhaps they made a VHS tape of it that's available somewhere.

That's dad. we have more pics coming . I also have the ticket to get in so I put nice frame together . Something he'll be proud of.

I was surprised that Pres. Obama didn't do the signing here in Pullman but he did this in Roseland so he could make the claim of organizing near Pullman.

The speech Obama was geared toward Black History, I don't think he knows that Pullman had caucasian's working and living here

I do have to give Rahm a lot of credit , he got the wealthy to invest 8 million to get the ball rolling here and talked Obama into making this area a monument.

when I get to a better online setup.
I notice your original link said "Pullman Elder". Does that mean the neighborhood has some sort of self-government? That's what the Natives have in their pueblos and reservation chapters.

There's just

that 1 pic for now, haven't got the rest yet.
I guess folks in the neighborhood respect my dad's age , you have to remember that the kids I grew up with here are 60+, they and their children come to dad to hear old stories of their parents and such .
I guess that makes him an elder, he is for sure my elder.
