With the bigger wattage adapters the usual issue is the heat. At the office we have yet to lose one adapter over 20 years. Yet we see owners with worn wiring and melted plastics. It makes you wonder what is going on there. Maybe some bury the adapter or tightly wind the cord?
As to safe, no one today can claim it is 100% safe. There is always a small element of risk in all gear so all one can do is note there are replacements.
I need a replacement A/C Adapter for my Satelline A505-S6965 Laptop. The one on the toshiba website has received AWFUL reviews so could someone direct me to a more reliable adapter? Is it safe to use a non-Toshiba adapter. I've heard it's best to stay within the same brand of computer with batteries....not sure if that holds true to adapters too.
