"A bin file is missing" in AVG -- again!!!

I'm running AVG on Windows Vista, and today I get "a bin file is missing" when I try to update. This is exactly the same problem that I and everyone else had back in August. Anyone else have this problem and any suggestions?

This Fixes the bin problem

Seems to work

I followed bri_71's advice (going to the grisoft server, manually downloading the latest two files to an AVG directory and updating from there) and it worked! I updated successfully and can now scan to see if I can fix a really awful problem I won't bore y'all with at present.

By the way, to answer someone's question, the error message was simply "A .bin file is missing." But I seem to have worked around that.

had many AVG problems!

can you tell me exactly what the error messeage is?

the mesage only says "a bin file is missing"

new problem

OK, so I updated it as suggested, and now the email scanner doesn't work! It says "not active" and I can't seem to turn it on.

a little help

even though the original post only says to download the two files, download all 4 to your directory, then do the rest.

(NT) Ok, I'll try that

Didn't work

I downloaded the other two, did a manual update from that directory, and received a prompt that there no new update files are available." Email scanner still inoperative.

Problem fixed

AVG has repaired the problem with its "bin" file, and all my little glitches are fixed. Thanks, guys.
