A BIG THANKS FOR THE WORLD CUP SPOILER...NOT

Jun 12, 2006 8:28AM PDT

you know, It is customary to announce a spoiler alert before you blurt it out, especially when it is regarding a game that is aired during the work day. Tom, of all people you should know that.

Some of us work and have a DVR with world cup games burning a hole in the hard drives. Please be considerate of this for the rest of the tournament.

I managed to avoid all news pages or tv. I thought it was safe to listen to a tech podcast while I was cleaning up from work...my mistake.

I will not discuss any more World Cup scores, and I apologize! That was totally dumb.

The Molly WC update...
Jun 13, 2006 1:33AM PDT

I thought it was kinda fun that Molly actually (seemed??) interested in the WC and was updating us on it. Shoot, Tom being the St. Louis guy that he is should be up with soccer too. Perhaps next time just give a little warning.

turns out the spoiler made the game play worse...
Jun 13, 2006 12:50AM PDT

if that's possible. knowing the US was going to lose made their effort even more pathetic. It's interesting how the knowledge of the impending doom can make their losing so much more frustrating, while not surprising.

Something similar happened on the BBC a few weeks back.

BBC1 News announced the winner of The Apprentice 25 minutes after it was announced on BBC2. A viewer wrote in and complained stating that he had recoded the show for later enjoyment.

In a response the BBC more or less said that if he was that interested in the show, he should have watched it live! (they also apologised and said they would not do it again).

we don't play dirty...
Jun 14, 2006 8:44PM PDT

Hey do you know you have listeners (well at least 1, so maybe not enough for hate mail) in Trinidad and Tobago? I take no offense at your "they just look like they play dirty" comments, because it's just nice to hear our country mentioned on a Tech podcast.

By the way you also had a listener (again, me)from Trinidad and Tobago who came over to CES this year to see you guys live.

Yeah mon!

Cheeering for you!

I am cheering for Trinidad Tobago! Have A 5'ver in with the bookies... I have to go with the underdogs.. and they have more spirit then any other team I have seen.
