Try getting a battery thats meant for cold weather. Most batteries lose power when its cold outside. Low temp battery should do the trick. chrysler made vehilcle takes alot more power to start than other conventional vehicles
Hi, before i let my garage spend loads of my money can anyone help.
On really cold mornings my jeep wont start with what sounds like a flat battery. As soon as you put jump leads on it starts first turn of key. The battery is only 9 months old because it was changed last year due to the same problem in cold weather. The garage say the battery tests fine, is charging and holding a charge. They suspect a weak starter motor but why would this only be the case when it is cold and why would it then start straight away with jump leads?
Someone has suggested it has a dodgy earth as sometimes all dashboard dials cut out when you hit a bump in road and weird warning lights come on, also sometimes when you indicate left the hazards come on instead. The other day for the first time ever it just cut out whilst driving along, it then started immediately and has not done it since. Could all these problems be linked to the same electrical fault? If so any suggestions, I'm reluctant to have a new starter motor when neither the garage nor I are convinced it will solve the problem. Many Thanks
