well, i live in FL here where it's really hot and humid. now, my car is specifically the 97 mitsubishi mirage ls coupe sport version. anyway, during the winter when it's a bit cooler down here, the AC usually works ok. however, during the summer, it gets very "moody". sometimes it will work, sometimes it just kicks out. there are times where i'll start up my car and it won't work at all, or others where it will work for a while then kick in and out for a couple minutes and eventually just stop kicking in. i can actually feel the ac kick in and out as i drive several times over the course of a few minutes.
so anyway, this problem *sometimes* happens when i first start the car up, sometimes it doesn't. eventually however, it always ends up kicking out within 10 minutes of driving at most. but i think the biggest things in narrowing it down is that the hotter it is out, the worse the problem is and that it doesn't seem to be a clog considering it will sometimes happen right at the startup of the car (even if it WAS working the last time i used my car).
if anyone can help narrow down what the problem might be i'd really appreciate it. the auto repair shops around here all seem to be real shady. one tried to tell me i needed my AC recharged (right after i had recharged it myself), another checked it out and told me it was probably my AC clutch (conveniently this is the most expensive thing to fix out of all it could be).
