Mostly that the machine looks a little older. About 3 years old so my thought is it's aged and needs a new motherboard to clear that up. That is, you didn't write it did this new so it's likely an aging issue.
HP and Nvidia are unlikely to tell you anything but to replace the motherboard.
Did you have the machine deep cleaned and all heatsink compound replaced?
Hi!
I have a HP Pavilion 15 N208TX. Its equipped with GT 740M(GK20
. I have not been able to play games on this one because it throttles when it reaches 67 degrees temperature (out of the box). I have tried
* Changing the throttle limit, but its stuck and does not change whatsoever.
* Cleaning the Laptop Inside-Out and applying different best quality thermal paste.
* Tried to alter the vBIOS but somehow it does not work.
I have seen GT740M reaching 80 degrees but mine is limited to 67, while my friend's much inferior 820M reaches 93 degrees temperature on full load.
Can Nvidia or anyone help me with this?
