This one all depends on what type of video you are watching & what hardware you are watching it with. 1080i has lots of resolution, but its interlaced, so as long as there are not too many fast moving scenes or objects in the scene, you shouldn't see any tearing or aliasing. 720p handles fast moving scenes better (sports, cartoons, video games). HOWEVER... video componenets that are on the market right now have some really good de-interlacers & interlacers & scalers or rescalers that help with fast moving scenes... so who doesn't want 1080 vertical pixels over 720 vertical pixels? If your video components have a Faroudja chip in them, you're probably ok to try the high-res Happy
