64 bit OS

Do the 64 bit Operating Systems pose any particular problems for the regular home user?

Let's use XP 64 bit as the most common example. Drivers are nearly impossible to find. In fact, don't do ANY version of Windows you can't find your complete driver set.

And then don't do this backwards. That is, buy the machine then start hunting for drivers for the OS!

I'm looking at laptops for my sister. I have noticed quite a few 4GB memory systems with 64 bit OS and this is why I asked. I was indeed concerned about drivers and other software for these systems.

If it comes installed the drivers are there.

The problem is when you install a 64 bit OS yourself. When you find the laptop google it and see what the customer praises and comaplints are.
