60 GB MP3 player

Dec 8, 2005 10:29AM PST

I am looking to buy a 60 GB player. So far it looks like my only options are the iPod or the Toshiba Gigabeat. What I don't like about the iPod is the battery life, freezing up and the very scratchable screen. What i don't like about the Gigabeat is the very unreliable software.

I don't really care about video or photo that much. Mainly what i am trying to do is make my CD collection obselete and just have to take the player into my car or on plane flights.

So for you experts that have had alot more experience with these, if you had to get a 60 GB mp3 player which would you choose, or suggest another player.

thanks for the help.

I'm in your exact same size shoes. (for me: 10GB Toshiba or 20GB colour iPod) What the real killer for me is that it's DIFFERENT!! check out the reviews for it here on CNET.
P.S. (don't read the review from cnet; very biased, unfair and underatted)

Why?

What are your selling points for the Toshiba? I am just worried that while trying to transfer hundreds of CD's that the software will drive my into an institution.

I have read most of the reviews for both products. I usually only read the bad reviews because just by watching t.v. os looking at ads i can find out why they think it is great, but i want to find out why people are upset with the items more.
