Question

6 year old Mitsubishi WD-60735 worth repairing?

by c4yourself2 / November 2, 2014 11:02 PM PST

Is my 6 yr old Mitsubishi WD-60735 worth repairing?
History, no problems for 5.5 years, then...
1) I replaced lamp 6 months ago as the picture was going dim. No problem, amazing difference in picture, happy again.
2) Starting to get white dots, only a few so far, looks like $180 from ebay for a new dlp chip or $200 and Mitsubishi will pay for the part but I pay for local repairmen to install it.
3) The TV is having trouble displaying a picture when it is turned on, almost like it can't process the information. For instance long hesitation to give the Dishnetwork a picture, same with the Blue Ray Internet Apps. Once got a picture with bad resolution (unable to read channel previews on Dish) and the sides of the screen where wavy. So at the point of either getting a new chip for the dlp or putting it on craigslist for $200 (or best offer) with the known defects.
