Honestly, you really only need something under about 16ms to avoid ghosting. Unless you're a real stickler for quality, which I'm betting you're not since you're even considering a 720p display, don't worry about it. Both will be fine. A lot of people just aren't happy unless they can find something to complain about, and I swear half the people who claim they can see a difference, are just talking out of their ****.
Just get one and be happy. Don't spend a lot of time obsessing over little details that really aren't going to make that big of a difference. Besides, those really low numbers they like to quote on the box and product features, are usually pushing the limits of truth in advertising laws. The actual numbers that you're likely going to see, aren't even CLOSE to what they'll put on the box, and they won't make it easy to find what the actual numbers are either. But pretty much any TV or monitor you are likely to buy, so long as it's not some cheap no-name brand, will likely be fine. Aim for a Sony or Samsung and you'll be good to go. Don't obsess over things that people with no lives spend their days arguing about. Just get one, play your games, and be happy.
I am thinking of buy a new LCD this Black Friday for Christmas.
I was looking at two, one had a 6.5ms response and was 720p. The other had 7ms response time and was 1080P.
I play a lot of Xbox 360(Call of Duty and such) and Wii, are these pixel response too slow. I know I've heard 5ms or under is best.
I am playing on a Dell 24" 1080P monitor now.
Thanks for the help!
