52 inch too big? !Anyone!

I'm stiiting at a slight angle 12 feet away from where the screen would be and the wife 14 feet. Is a 52 incher too big? What would I not like about it to have to consider a 46a650?

Nope.

Definitely not too big at all, in my current experience. I just bought a 46" (ln46a650) and was freaking, thinking I'd bought too big. Nope. My viewing distance is about 8'-9'. After seeing it in the room, it's actually smallish. 52" and pushing it back to about 10" or so would have been Perfect.

It's personal preference but....

The rule of thumb I use for television screen sizes is that you want to sit 3x back the size of the panel. It's a ballpark, general, but accepted approach to considering screen sizes.

From there, it's totally up to you.

I rec'd my 52" tv today and I'm sitting at exactly 144 inches. It's perfect. The 46" would be a little too small for this distance, in my opinion. As for you sitting at a slight angle, no worries at all. Enjoy your new 52 incher! It's a beautiful set. Take some time (like 4 hours) and go through the menus while viewing this forum. Oh, and I have the LN52A650. Don't worry, it looks a lot bigger in the store. We got it home and unpacked it and actually said, wow, doesn't seem as big now.
