Resolved Question

51" Samsung - 9 days old and an issue with HDMI 2 & 3

Nov 23, 2012 1:02PM PST

Feeling a little deflated right now...I am not sure if this has to do with the software upgrade last night - it's "Update 001024" right now. I started to get horizontal "shooting white lines." I can only explain it as shooting stars or thin to long to think lasers moving from right to left while on HDMI 2 and 3, I also had a Mac to HDMI 3 (a decent cord - I guess? I disconnected it)

I bought this on sale 9 days ago - Nov. 14th, Hooked up my FIOS using a powerful, mostly likely insanely overpriced HDMI cord...however I am having no issues viewing TV, SmartHub OR the TV's internet Network (I can access PS3s videos, movies..etc, but no gameplay.)

Now the HDMI cord for the PS3 is a bit cheap I admit...older cord from my old and now dead 720i Vizeo.

Anyone else having issues with the new update? I hate to head to the store, especially the day after Black Fri..but I will. I'll upgrade the HDMI and see what that does.

Again, it makes me wonder how it's doing it on my Mac also / HDMI3 (the output on a iMac to HDMI connection is different)..Wondering how this JUST started tonight.

Thanks.

Hi UncleJunior72,

The work around currently is to switch source video to 1080i. What the complete model code for this device?

Re: 51" Samsung - 9 days old. - Returned

The model number: PN51E550D1FXZA. Appreciate the reply, I ended up returning the TV to Best Buy with no problem.

Before I did, I chatted with a Samsung online agent the day after I posted this. "Resetting the picture" to it's factory settings (using code 0-0-0-0) TV reboots, that did work, but it started again after 10 mintres. Another agent mentioned it needs to be physically looked at, something may be wrong with the side HDMI motherboard??

Forget it, a couple days old and the price I paid. It shouldn't fail like this.

Hi UncleJunior72,

Sorry to hear that. The issue isn't a hardware, and the reset would work for a few minutes. We'll be fixing the problem soon.
