50 mm for dslr video doesn't hv IS

Sep 3, 2014 11:21PM PDT

is 50mm for canon 700d good enough to make camera movements i guess with the help of a shoulder mount, for my short films as it doesn't hv IS (image stabilisation) and i'm worried about shakiness.

Thanks in advance

I assume hv stands for "have".
I assume you are talking about video (not still pictures).

It is unlikely you will notice any difference between image stabilization and without image stabilization with the set-up you describe.

The low cost 50mm Canon lens is a good lens but it is a bit soft (not as sharp as other lenses).
I would choose a different lens.

Most home videos look bad because the person holding the camera, "pans" the camera too fast and/or too often.
That can set the viewer's head spinning.

Thanks for you advice and yeah I was talking about video.

You can also share the other good lenses you were talking about keeping in mind my budget is very low.

thanks again.
