5.1 Dolby digital sound out put.

Hi

i have a LG 42' LF5530 LED TV,which has a Dolby digital decoder and a sony sound bar htct 350 which also has a Dolby decoder, i have connected my TV out put by a optical cable to the sound bar, But the sound is not great as before, when i had a Panasonic led tv connect, iahve done all the sound settings on the tv and sound bar, My Q is that is becos of boths units having the 5.1 decoder, or is there a better way get better sound.

My sound bar has a HDMI ARC out,but the tv has only HDMI IN.

Kindly help me.
