4th gen iPod doesn't want to shut off

by Harryc8786 / March 4, 2007 1:23 PM PST

I have been having ipod issues lately. Seems that since I bought a firewire cable and tried that out my luck has gone down hill. The cable which was supposed to work with 4th gens only charged the ipod and didn't do data. I returned it. Since then my 60gb photo keeps dieing. I can have a full battery and leave it off for a few hours before it dies. I bought a new battery and replaced it and its still an issue. I have reloaded the ipod firmware and disconnected battery and hard drive let it sit a while and reconnect. None of these seem to fix my problem. I think the hard drive just won't shut off so after several hours of nonstop running it kills my ipod.

When I turn it on it freezes at the apple logo with the LCD backlight on. I could have this thing on the charger for hours and reset it with menu and the middle button and get nowhere. When I plug it in my PC though after maybe an hour of the apple logo the thing will boot by itself and be functional until it dies again. Anyone with a similar experience? I've got nothing on this issue. Think I could blame the Dynex people who made that stupid firewire cable? Please help me out if you think you have a serious work around.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
